Five deployments took Army veteran Dominic to countries around the world: Afghanistan, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Korea, just to name a few. Many of Dominic’s twenty years of service were spent working on the Patriot Missile system. Injuries sustained during those twenty years of service followed Dominic into retirement, particularly his lingering Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). After a lengthy hospitalization for his PTSD, Dominic sought additional help via an out-patient hospital-based program. Despite the uncertainties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, his program was held via telemedicine, allowing Dominic to attend without leaving his home.
As the pandemic went on, the family’s income decreased, due to declining revenues from his wife’s practice. Dominic reached out to SALUTE for assistance with his rent, and SALUTE was happy to support this proud veteran and his family. SALUTE is grateful for all of our hospital partnerships; whose skilled doctors and staff so capably care for veterans bearing the invisible wounds of war.
