Palatine, IL, July 5, 2019 — For immediate release – Individuals and corporate teams are now invited to sign up for SALUTE, INC’s Homestretch for Heroes 5K twilight walk/run and 1-mile walk on Tuesday, August 6th at 6:30 p.m. The event takes place on the grounds of Arlington International Racecourse and the race finishes on the track, ending with a big party in the park.
SALUTE, INC. is a Palatine-based nonprofit that raises funds to help meet the financial, physical and emotional needs of injured military service members, veterans and their families.
Companies that enter the Homestretch for Heroes Corporate Challenge will raise funds, 100 percent of which will be donated to military families.
Companies who have already created teams include Discover Financial Services, Guaranteed Trust Life, Salesforce, United Scrap Metal, Inspyr Studio, Graphpak, and Siemens. In addition to the 5K race, corporate teams will get access to a VIP tent with a massage station, soft drinks and snacks, one beer per runner, a race shirt and two free tickets per runner to a day at Arlington Park.
“Not only will corporate teams raise funds for a great cause, but this event provides a fun, active team building opportunity,” said SALUTE, INC. co-founder and Executive Director Mary Beth Beiersdorf. “Between team training and the race, itself, it’s a great excuse to get outside and bond with your team.”
Business interested in putting together a team of 10 or more employees should assign a team captain, who will act as a liaison between your office and SALUTE.. The captain should choose a team name and reach out to Sue Hussey at sue@saluteinc.org.
