Palatine, IL, June 17, 2020 — As their May campaign “Running Without a Finish Line” demonstrated to the community, SALUTE, INC. is not interested in letting the COVID-19 pandemic inhibit their ability to assist military veterans and their families in overcoming barriers to the care they need.
SALUTE Executive Director Mary Beth Beiersdorf used the end of the campaign to announce that the organization has received GuideStar’s Platinum Seal of Transparency—their newest and highest level of recognition.
“GuideStar is the world’s largest source of information on nonprofit organizations,” said Beiersdorf. “The Platinum Seal of Transparency demonstrates that SALUTE is an organization that is focused on measuring progress and results, and provides potential donors a concrete means of evaluating how effectively we use funding.”
Beiersdorf also announced that donations can now be made to SALUTE, INC, via both the Round-Up app and Amazon Smile program.
“The Round-Up app is very simple to use,” Beiersdorf explained. “Once a donor registers, they can use the app to round-up any purchases on their debit or credit card and have the extra cents go to SALUTE.”
As an example, a purchase of $12.82 would automatically provide SALUTE with an $.18 donation. “It’s a small amount per donation, but with enough users on board, it can make a big difference for an organization like us.”
SALUTE is now also a member of the Amazon Smile program. When shopping online, rather than going to Amazon, if a user uses Amazon Smile and designates SALUTE, INC. as their selected charity, 0.5% of the purchase price will be donated to SALUTE.
“The products and prices are the same as they are on Amazon,” said Beiersdorf. “Both of these programs make it easier for supporters to assist our mission on an on-going basis with a brief set-up being the only effort required.”
